An examination of state and Local Government Resurgence This paper will examine the alleged resurrection of state and local governments over the last forty years. An argument will be presented as to whether the resurgence does exist and if so why. The stateÂ’s ability to govern is discussed along with an examination of the power of local governments. The federal governmentÂ’s role in this issue will also be examined.
