Advantages of the Home/Mobile Worker This paper presents the many advantages mobile workers have over the traditional "central office" model. It discusses the many industries that have already adopted this model and the new technology that has facilitated the development of mobile offices and fully mobile workers, particularly in the finance and IT sectors. It mentions the benefits mobility has for the worker, such as personal freedom, industry/knowledge relevance, and schedule flexibility. If the mobile worker's productivity can be effectively managed by the use of communication devices and an organizational culture of accountability, the mobile worker can be just as effective at his or her job as the traditional office employee.
