Alistair Cooke's America: Video Summary This paper reviews the sum total of the series "America" written and narrated by Alistair Cooke. An overview of the series as a whole is provided, while each of the series' thirteen (13) episodes is reviewed relative to content and the manner in which they reflect the American experience. "America" is compared to Ken Burns' later documentary on the Civil War in its utilization of period commentary and current cinematography.
